(Isaiah 53:1-12) This week begins the season of Advent in the Christian year. This season our sermons will focus on the reality that God became man, the incarnation, and what that means for us today. In this first Advent sermon, Seth McLaughlin reflects on the reality that Jesus fulfills the promise of the coming servant from Isaiah 53 who would come and suffer for to save God's people from their sins and wrestles with the question, what does it mean that we worship a crucified God?
“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”” (Romans 10:14–15)
