About Us

The Village Church of East Atlanta is a new church that meets in East Atlanta Village. We live in the East Side neighborhoods and we love it. Our deep desire is to be a church that is in, of, and for our neighborhood. We believe that the church should be a blessing to whatever place in which it finds itself.

We long to be a community of people centered on and defined by the Story of redemption recorded in the Christian Scriptures. It’s a story of creation, love, loss, betrayal, death, passionate pursuit, redemption, and new beginnings. We believe that the church plays a key role in that unfolding story and is a community defined by its worship, servanthood, and celebration.

Christians can have a tendency to put out the vibe that they have it all together, that they have something you need, and so come from a place of superiority or privilege. We think that posture contradicts the Story in which we find ourselves. The biblical story describes the world as a place of great beauty and creativity but also of real need and brokenness. We can all feel that brokenness deep within ourselves and in the world around us. The gospel is the story about healing and reconciliation that God is bringing about in the world.

So what’s our purpose? To be a community of people who live in light of God’s redemptive story, knowing that he has loved and served us well and so calls us to love and serve each other. Not much more than that. Please email us at info@villagechurchofeastatlanta.org if you’d like to know more, or leave a message at 404-865-1443.
